Who is the One who is Present?

Who is the One who is Present?

Naturally, I am sensitive.

The feelings I feel rock me to the core like a set of crazy waves crashing into a rocky shore. My insides shake and tumble, spin and flatline, trying to keep it all together. No falling tears. No peppering heartbeat. No brewing gut.

And so, I walk around desensitized.

The status quo exists to medicate expression. Meanwhile, the artists play in the shadows.

When I meditate, I let my emotions flow naturally. I let my feelings rise and fall like the tides. My heart smiles. My breath softens. My eyes loosen their grip on my watery soul and my centered sight swims through every incoming memory or projection with a cosmic embrace of unconditional love.

Like a fog retreating back from the coastline, my inner awareness becomes clear.
The waves mellow. The honey builds.

Here is a meditation I practiced this evening. A thick fog blanketed the coastal neighborhood. I sat like a lotus. One hand to my heart, the other with pointer finger bowing to thumb.

Looking inward, recite this series of affirmations aloud (inhaling deeply and exhaling deeply between phrases):

Who is the one who loves?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who is confident?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who smiles?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who is beautiful?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who is power?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who protects?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who shines?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who is open?

deep inhale. deep exhale.

Who is the one who is present?

deep inhale. deep exhale.
